Royal Norfolk Show 2015

As a local girl, the Royal Norfolk Show has always been massive event. It's difficult to describe to people from outside of the county what a big deal it is, imagine Glastonbury with cows, sheep and tractors instead of rock bands. As kids we even used to get a day off school to attend!

So it was really lovely to be accepted to display my work in the 'Best of Norfolk' tent. My illustrations have always been heavily influenced by Norfolk wildlife and countryside, so it felt like the right place to be.

I had spent the previous weeks printing away in preparation, as well as working out the best way of displaying my screen printed tea towels, napkins, aprons and double deck chairs.

I was quite organised and arrived early on the Tuesday morning to get my stall prepared. What I hadn't prepared for was how incredibly hot it was. I mean it was really hot.

Once the event kicked off, there was lots of interest in my products, but to be honest everyone's brain was so frazzled that they just couldn't make up their minds!

It didn't really matter though, I handed out a ton of postcards and quite a few people popping into the gallery or buying online after the show.

Seen as sales were a little slow I thought I'd take a look around the site and make some new friends!

Again I need to emphasise just how hot it was, even the little piglets couldn't cope!

I suppose they had no mud to roll about in.

Thankfully it did cool down a little on the second day and the event was worthwhile, I'll definitely be giving it another go next year!
